Beaudesert residents asked to reduce water use
Urban Utilities and Seqwater are asking customers in Beaudesert to reduce their water use over the next few days.
Residents are asked to minimise unnecessary water use, particularly outdoor activities such as watering gardens, washing cars and topping up swimming pools.
This is due to a burst water main and unplanned temporary outage at the Beaudesert Water Treatment on Saturday (26 Sept) which were both restored within a few hours.
The burst yesterday resulted in a significant loss of water from a local reservoir. Seqwater’s Beaudesert Water Treatment Plant is working to restore the reservoir level, which is challenging given ongoing high-water demand due to hot and dry conditions.
The tanker filling station in Helen Street is now offline, and customers are advised to temporarily avoid the use of metered standpipes.
This is a precautionary measure only. Reducing water use over the next few days will help Urban Utilities and Seqwater manage local water supplies and restore reservoir levels.
