Irrigation
We support around 1200 rural irrigation customers across South East Queensland, helping local farmers and producers grow dairy, fruit, nut crops, vegetables, grain and fodder.
Water is allocated to rural landholders and businesses from the dams and waterways we manage. Depending on location, water is delivered to authorised irrigators through natural watercourses, channels and pipelines, or by recharging underground water systems.
Water availability varies with seasonal and local conditions. During drought or low-flow periods, irrigation allocations may be reduced or temporary suspended to protect the water supply.
