• Investigative works at Leslie Harrison Dam

    Investigative works on the Leslie Harrison Dam spillway will commence this month as part of Seqwater’s Dam Improvement Program.

    The works, which will span approximately eight weeks (subject to weather conditions) will involve some drilling and excavation work on the spillway.

    During this work some of the dam gates will be closed to ensure the safety of our staff and contractors that will accessing the spillway. One gate will remain open at all times to ensure that the temporary full supply level is maintained.

    As a part of early investigative works for the potential Stage 2 upgrade of Ewen Maddock Dam, Seqwater will be conducting geotechnical work at various locations along the dam crest, and below and adjacent to the main embankment.

  • Wappa Dam geotechnical investigative works

    As a part of early investigative works for the potential upgrade of Wappa Dam, Seqwater will be conducting geotechnical work next week near the northern side of the spillway, via Nichols Road.

    Increased traffic movements are expected for Nichols Road during this work, and a traffic management plan will be in place to ensure the safety of motorists and Seqwater staff. 

  • Wellers Hill Reservoir refurbishment

    Beginning 11 March 2015, Seqwater will be conducting refurbishment works on the number one reservoir at Wellers Hill Reservoir, Marshall Road, Tarragindi.

    Recent inspections have identified leaks and structural damage to No. 1 Reservoir, which will be taken offline for repair and maintenance work. No. 2 Reservoir will remain online for the duration of the refurbishment work, and we do not expect any disruption to your water supply.

  • Geomorphic assessment - Mary River, Gympie

    As a part of our commitment to improving biodiversity in our catchments, Seqwater is working with Energex to investigate design options for a biopassage at Gympie Weir. These options are being investigated to improve connectivity of habitat for aquatic species in the Mary River.

  • Traffic restricted at Pickering Street, Enoggera

    Traffic is restricted to one lane eastbound along a section of Pickering Street at Enoggera due to a leaking water main.

    Seqwater advises that traffic management is in place on Pickering Street heading eastbound towards Sicklefield Road and the leak is being managed, but repairs will not be undertaken until after this afternoon’s peak hour to minimise traffic disruption.

    Seqwater is yet to determine the cause of the leak but there is currently no impact on water supply to the area.

  • Moogerah Dam stage 1a works almost complete

    Stage 1a upgrade works at Moogerah Dam is almost complete, ahead of schedule. As a result, the lower recreation area lower recreation area and the dam wall walking track ahead has re-opened for public access.

    Seqwater will soon commence works to replace a valve on a bulk water main at the corner of Tarrant Drive and Gold Coast Springbrook Road, Mudgeeraba.
