Seqwater has submitted an application for a Ministerial Infrastructure Designation (MID) for the Somerset Dam Improvement Project, which is now open for community consultation.

Proposed Ministerial Infrastructure Designation for the Somerset Dam Improvement Project – Community Consultation Now Open

Seqwater is planning to deliver the Somerset Dam Improvement Project, under its overarching Dam Improvement Program. As part of this process, Seqwater has submitted an application for a Ministerial Infrastructure Designation (MID) to the Planning Minister under Chapter 2, Part 5 of the Planning Act 2016 and is now open for community consultation.

HOW TO HAVE YOUR SAY

The MID proposal (Ref: 0725-0958) containing details of the project, approval requirements and an assessment of potential impacts, is available online. You can make a submission, on or before 22 May 2026, about the MID proposal to the Infrastructure Designation team via:
