As part of the environmental regulatory process, Seqwater has submitted a referral under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC) in relation to the North Pine Dam Improvement Project (NPDIP). This process is administered by the Australian Government to help protect our unique plants, habitats and animals.
To view the referral, visit epbcpublicportal.environment.gov.au/all-referrals/ and search for EPBC number 2026/10640.
The planned works at North Pine Dam are extensive and, due to the surrounding bushland and habitat areas, some environmental impacts are unavoidable during construction. These may include vegetation clearing, as well as increased noise, lighting and vehicle movements.
Understanding and protecting the environment is an important part of planning these works and detailed environmental assessments have been carried out. This includes desktop studies and on-ground surveys to identify and map protected plants, important habitat and threatened animals.
We are committed to minimising impacts where possible and demonstrate environmental responsibility by meeting any legislative, regulatory and duty of care requirements.
