Planned water supply interruption for parts of Redlands Coast
Some areas within Redlands Coast will experience temporary water supply interruptions during May as inspections are carried out to determine the condition of an ageing pipeline.
Some areas within Redlands Coast will experience temporary water supply interruptions during May as inspections are carried out to determine the condition of an ageing pipeline.
Seqwater has been working closely with the Redlands Coast Council to ensure the works are undertaken to minimise the impact on the community.
The 50-year-old pipeline stretches 14 kilometres between the Alexandra Hills Reservoir and the Heinemann Road Reservoir at Mount Cotton. The works will allow Seqwater to prioritise pipe replacement.
Seqwater Chief Executive Officer Neil Brennan said the project would improve the reliability of the region’s drinking water supply.
“This work benefits the community by reducing the chance of unplanned shutdowns due to burst water mains,” Mr Brennan said.
“We understand having temporary water supply interruptions is not easy and appreciate the understanding and patience of locals as this vital work is carried out.
”Affected properties will receive a notice in the letterbox ahead of a water supply interruption. If you have not received a notification, your water supply will remain as normal.’’
