Minor pipeline leak detected on Macleay Island

Seqwater is responding to a minor leak detected in a section of underwater bulk water pipeline located between Lamb and Macleay Islands.

Seqwater is responding to a minor leak detected in a section of underwater bulk water pipeline under the mudflats of Macleay Island.

The suspected leak was detected under the mudflats of Macleay Island on Friday afternoon, with investigations undertaken during the weekend.

The minor leak is resulting in a very minimal loss of water, with no impacts to water quality, water supply or pressure anticipated to occur at this point in time.

Seqwater is working to resolve the issue as matter of priority. Planning is currently underway to inform repair works and we will keep the community updated as this progresses.

Since 2019, Seqwater has invested almost $1 million in improvement works for the bay islands community.
