Lake Moogerah, which supplies the Warrill Valley Water Supply Scheme (WVWSS), increased from 12.4% capacity in early-March to above 42% last week.
Large inflows into the lake has meant Seqwater was able to increase allocations for irrigators from 31%, to 96% for the remainder of the water year.
Seqwater Chief Executive Officer Neil Brennan said Seqwater reviews the announced allocations that are less than 100% on a monthly basis to ensure the latest conditions are taken into account.
“Announced allocations for irrigation customers in some schemes are reduced in times of drought, or low inflows, to safeguard urban drinking water supply,” Mr Brennan said.
“If substantial inflows are received throughout the year, Seqwater may be able to increase allocations within some schemes which is what’s happened for our customers in the Warrill Valley.
“This was great news to be able to share with our customers – the added supply provides them with water security and confidence for the remainder of the water year.”
Seqwater will continue to monitor water levels at Lake Moogerah and will announce allocation for the 21/22 water year on 1 July 2021.
