Lake Somerset is temporarily closed to all primary (in-water) recreation activities including water skiing, jet skiing and swimming.

Boating and fishing are not affected by the closure.

This is due to recent significant rainfall into the catchment and resulting inflows which may affect water quality. The closure will remain in place for the next 3 days and be reassessed on Thursday 12 March 2026. Please note any further significant rainfall could extend the closure period.
