Dam release update

GATED DAMS:

Operational releases from Somerset Dam into Wivenhoe Dam continue.

These releases are not expected to cause the lake level in Wivenhoe Dam to increase by more than 0.5 metres.

Low flow operational releases through one radial gate will continue at Wivenhoe Dam.

Routine operational releases are common to balance the lake levels across Somerset and Wivenhoe dams.

UNGATED DAMS:

Due to recent rain in the catchment area, the following ungated dams are spilling excess water:

Atkinson Dam
Baroon Pocket Dam
Borumba Dam
Cedar Pocket Dam
Cooloolabin Dam
Enoggera Dam
Gold Creek Dam
Leslie Harrison Dam
Maroon Dam
Sideling Creek Dam
Wappa Dam

Avoid potential hazards downstream of the dams such as fast flowing or deep water near waterways and floodplains.

Dam release notification service

Seqwater provides a free dam release notification service that provides subscribers with notifications by email, text messages to mobile phones or recorded messages to telephone landlines when dam releases are occurring.
