Camping is a popular activity at many of our lakes across South East Queensland. Camping is only permitted in designated camping areas and camp grounds. Seqwater manages the camp grounds at Wyaralong Dam and remote camping at Lake Manchester. All other camp grounds are privately operated, as detailed below.
Lake Wyaralong camp grounds
Seqwater manages the following camping areas at Wyaralong Dam. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own drinking water.
Ngumbi Camping Area (Mt Joyce Base Camp)
Ngumbi is in the centre of the park and includes open camping areas, a toilet, a simple shelter shed and water tanks. Walking enthusiasts and trail runners will find this site useful as a base before summiting Mt Joyce. The camp site is remote, without vehicle access but can be accessed via the lake.
There are no camping fees. Free standing tents only - no caravans, camper vans, roof top campers or mobile homes allowed. Camp site allocation is on a first-in first-served basis. The maximum permitted stay is seven nights.
Lilybrook (Western Trailhead)
Lilybrook caters primarily for horse enthusiasts with holding paddocks, watering areas and loading ramps. Camping facilities are available for event use only and include a cleared area suitable for large groups. Toilets, showers, picnic tables and a shelter are available on site. To book, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
