Seqwater undertook minor gate releases from North Pine Dam overnight, with gate operations commencing at 8.30pm on Tuesday 27 March.

North Pine Dam has been hovering close to its Temporary Full Supply Level, which is 90 per cent, for the past few weeks, with recent rainfall in the catchment causing the lake level to rise.

Seqwater mobilised its Flood Operations Centre on Tuesday 27 March.

Gate releases commenced at 8.30pm and closed at 5.00am, with approximately 3,000 megalitres of water being released.

Youngs Crossing Road was inundated during the releases but has now reopened.

Before the overnight gate releases, North Pine Dam was at its highest level since May 2015 when gate releases last occurred.

North Pine Dam, also known as Lake Samsonvale, is one of three gated storages in South East Queensland, which includes Wivenhoe and Somerset Dam.

No gate releases are planned for Wivenhoe and Somerset Dam at this stage.<
