Seqwater, in conjunction with Biosecurity Queensland, is conducting pest management activities to manage wild dogs on Seqwater land near Lake Manchester.

Under the Biosecurity Act 2014 and Biosecurity Regulation 2016, wild dogs are classified as a restricted biosecurity matter and Seqwater has a responsibility to manage them.

1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) baits will be laid at various sites on Seqwater land around the dam from Wednesday 20 March 2019 for a period of two weeks.

Baits are a humane and effective species-specific pesticide used state-wide to control these populations.  Warning: there is no known antidote for 1080 poisoning.  Please muzzle or restrain domestic and working dogs during this period.
