Seqwater will be accessing a small section of above ground pipeline near the corner of Aramara Road and Mt Crosby Road, Anstead next week to test a new type of UV coating.
What to expect
- Work will take about four days to complete
- Working hours are between 7am and 4pm
- Construction equipment will include, but is not limited to, water blasting equipment (no sand blasting), paint rollers and utility vehicles
- Work is not anticipated to disrupt water supply to the area.
In 2016, Seqwater conducted a paint recoating program on a section of pipeline along Mt Crosby Road, between Kangaroo Gully Road and Aramara Road, Anstead.
Unfortunately, the top layer of new coating, designed to protect the pipeline against ultraviolet rays, has since failed. The new UV coating to be tested will be monitored and if successful, we will be required to remove and replace the top layer for this section of pipeline later in the year.
