Seqwater is working closely with Somerset Regional Council to conduct a pest management program near Wivenhoe Dam from 1 September 2015.

As a landholder, Seqwater has a responsibility to manage pest animals under the Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Act 2012.  Wild dogs and pigs are declared Class 2 pest animals under Queensland legislation.

Sodium fluoroacetate (1080) baits will be laid on 1 September 2015 at various locations near Wivenhoe Dam including Wivenhoe Hill, Cormorant Bay and Murrumba Island.

The baits will be collected seven days later.

Visitors are urged to remain vigilant and follow the directions of signage and staff in the area.
