    Seqwater will be working on pipeline air valves at Channel Street and Canaipa Road on Russell Island Thursday night this week. 

    Work hours will be 9pm on Thursday 27 June 2019 until 5am on Friday 28 June 2019. Timing is subject to weather conditions and other unexpected delays.

    Residents on Russell, Lamb, Karragarra and Macleay Islands may experience lower water pressure during works and discoloured water as pipelines are reopened.

  • North Stradbroke Island - feral animal control

    To protect wildlife from predation, integrated feral animal control including the use of 1080 baiting will be conducted on North Stradbroke Island from 23 May - 28 June 2019 and 1 August - 19 September 2019.

    Seqwater is participating in this pest management program as part of the Staddie Pest Management Group.

    Seqwater is conducting a planned burn near the Amity Point Water Treatment Plant on North Stradbroke Island, on Tuesday 28 May 2019, subject to weather conditions and other unforeseen delays.

    Smoke will be visible to people in Amity Point and Point Lookout.

    If you are visiting the area, please remain vigilant and follow the directions of staff and traffic control signage on-site.

  • Drone trial - Baroon Pocket Dam and Enoggera Dam

    On Thursday 16 May 2019, Seqwater will be trialling a large agricultural drone on the dam walls at Baroon Pocket and Enoggera. The drone will use a red, non-toxic dye to assess if the drones effectively apply herbicides to control weeds at the dam wall.

    Seqwater, in conjunction with Biosecurity Queensland, is conducting pest management activities to manage wild dogs on Seqwater land near Lake Wivenhoe.

    Under the Biosecurity Act 2014 and Biosecurity Regulation 2016, wild dogs are classified as a restricted biosecurity matter and Seqwater has a responsibility to manage them.

    1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) baits will be laid at various sites on Seqwater land around the dam from Wednesday 20 March 2019 for a period of two weeks.
