Site closures as a result of bush fires and current fire danger rating
The Wivenhoe Hill multi-use trails at Wivenhoe Dam and Postman's Track multi-use trails at North Pine Dam are currently closed due to severe fire danger. The Forgan Trails remain open.
The Wyaralong, Gold Creek, Enoggera & Manchester trail networks, Cormorant Bay recreation area, Spillway common and the Wivenhoe Information Centre remain closed due to severe fire danger rating.
Please be aware we may need to close other lakes and recreation areas as the fire situation changes.
In light of current and predicted fire weather conditions, please consider your need to be at recreation sites. Before visiting any of our sites, be sure to:
- Check the latest recreation and safety notices
- Stay up to date with current fire warnings at www.fire.qld.gov.au or www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au
- Check the weather forecast at www.bom.qld.gov.au
- Download the Seqwater public safety app to receive the latest closure notices on your phone.
If you see a fire, call 000 (or 112) immediately. Remain alert and take appropriate precautions. Be aware of current weather conditions and the associated hazards of extreme heat.
We appreciate your patience during these temporary closures. We will re-open sites as soon as it is safe to do so.
