Tuesday 20th October Update :  Maroon Dam and Lake Wyaralong are open to on water activity. Thankyou for your patience while QFES responded to this emergency situation.

Maroon Dam and Wyaralong Dam are closed to on-water recreation due to Queensland Fire and Emergency Service firefighting aircraft using the dam for ongoing bushfire suppression.

Please observe the directions of signage and staff on-site.

Closure will be current until Tuesday 20 October 2020 and we will re-open the site as soon as it is appropriate to do so.

Before visiting any of our sites, be sure to:

  • Stay up to date with current fire warnings at www.fire.qld.gov.au or www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au
  • Check the weather forecast at www.bom.qld.gov.au
  • Download the Seqwater public safety app to receive the latest closure notices on your phone.

If you see a fire, call 000 (or 112) immediately. Remain alert and take appropriate precautions. Be aware of current weather conditions and the associated hazards of extreme heat.

We appreciate your patience during these temporary closures.
