COVID-19 update - High priority planned burns will proceed in 2020
Last Updated: Monday, July 13, 2020 - 17:05
The Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) has asked land holding agencies to proceed with high priority burns where possible this year to help reduce wild fire risk across Queensland.
We recognise the restrictions on freedom of movement in place during this time and are seeking to proceed with high priority burns, primarily where these are not in close proximity to residential properties.
While we will take every precaution we can to limit smoke impacts by selecting favourable wind conditions as much as possible, we know these conditions can change.
