• Upcoming night works near Aspley Reservoir

    We will be modifying underground pipelines from Tuesday 8 August 2017 as part of infrastructure upgrades at the Aspley Reservoir.

    The work will involve cutting into existing pipes and laying new ones to help us move water from the south of Brisbane to the northern region.

    Night works will be conducted within the reservoir grounds off Lawrence Road on Tuesday 8 August, subject to weather conditions and other unexpected delays. To minimise risks to water supply, work will start at 3am and may take up to 36 hours to complete.

    Seqwater, in conjunction with Somerset Regional Council, is conducting pest management activities to manage wild dogs on land near Lake Wivenhoe.

    Under the Biosecurity Act 2014 and Biosecurity Regulation 2016, wild dogs are classified as a restricted biosecurity matter and Seqwater has a responsibility to manage them.

    1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) baits will be laid at various sites on Seqwater land around the dam and collected seven days later.

    Seqwater, along with the Straddie Pest Management Group, is conducting pest management activities to manage foxes on Seqwater land on North Stradbroke Island.

    Under the Biosecurity Act 2014, foxes are classified as a restricted invasive pest species.

    1080 (Sodium Fluoro acetate) baits will be laid at various sites on North Stradbroke Island, including Seqwater land, until 30 August 2017

    Signage will be in place to warn others when baiting is in progress. 

  • Pipeline maintenance on Stumers Road and Mt Crosby Road

    From Monday 5 June 2017, Seqwater will begin maintenance on a section of above ground water pipeline between the East Bank Pump Station on Stumers Road and the East Bank Water Treatment Plant on Mt Crosby Road.

    Work will occur between 7am and 5pm from Monday to Friday, and should take about eight weeks to complete, subject to any unforseen delays.

    Seqwater will undertake geotechnical drilling investigations near the spillway at Lake Macdonald as part of planning and design for the dam upgrade. These investigations will help us to better understand the rock and soil characteristics beneath the dam to assist in the Dam Improvement Program upgrade.
