Wivenhoe, Somerset & North Pine dams (Greater Brisbane)
Combined dam levels are currently 71.1%, an increase of 0.9% since Friday 5 February. Wivenhoe Dam is stable at 61.3% (with an average of 18mm across the catchment between 9AM on Friday and 9AM Monday,) Somerset Dam has increased to 86.0% (up 2.5%, with 81mm of rainfall,) and North Pine Dam climbed to 98.0% (up 3.5% with 106mm of rainfall.)
Hinze Dam (Gold Coast)
Hinze Dam was at 86.2% on Friday and reached full capacity on Sunday morning. It is currently spilling. The Hinze and Little Nerang catchment has received an average of 260mm of rainfall over the weekend.
Lake Baroon Pocket (Sunshine Coast)
Lake Baroon’s level has increased by 7.2% since Friday 5 February to be currently 88.3%, with 142mm of rainfall across the catchment over the weekend.
Be DAM smart
Seqwater has launched a community education and awareness campaign focussing on dam safety. With the slogan “Be Dam Smart” and continuing the “Safe for Life” theme, the campaign has been developed and in consultation with Queensland Police and Seqwater Rangers who will actively patrol recreational areas over the summer period. more...
