Lake Baroon is located near Montville and forms the primary water resource for the Sunshine Coast.

Water from the lake is treated by the Landers Shute Water Treatment Plant.

Recreational activities at Lake Baroon Pocket are temporarily suspended due to heavy rainfall on the 1st of March.
