    All lake users and visitors are requested to exercise caution following the recent heavy rain.

    Anyone undertaking water based activities should be aware of the potential for submerged hazards, floating debris and changed conditions as a result of inflows to a number of lakes.

    All visitors are reminded to exercise additional caution on the roads and observe signs advising of road closures due to flooding.

  • Impact of high rainfall on SEQ dams

    High rainfall has been forecast for South East Queensland, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting up to 150mm in the next three days, but it is unlikely gated dam releases will be necessary. After a hot, dry summer the region’s catchments were quite dry and a minimum of 50mm rainfall is need to saturate the ground before rainwater starts to runoff into the creeks and rivers that flow to the region’s dams.

  • Logan's Inlet recreation area closed for maintenance works Wednesday 7 May 2014

    The recreation area at Logan’s Inlet, Wivenhoe, will be closed Wednesday 7 May 2014 to allow line marking to be undertaken throughout the site. The facilities will reopen at 6am on Thursday 8May 2014.

    The campgrounds at Lumley Hill and Captain Logan’s Camp will remain accessible with traffic control measures in place.

    In the interest of public safety, all visitors must observe the direction of staff and contractors at the site.

    Seqwater, the University of Queensland and West Moreton Landcare have teamed up to improve a section of riverbank along the Lockyer Creek, following the devastating floods of 2011 and 2013.

  • Glenore Grove Weir repaired

    Seqwater in partnership with the local landholder has undertaken a project at Glenore Grove Weir to tackle erosion that occurred during the 2011 floods and then was further damaged during the extreme weather event as a result of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Oswald in early 2013. 

  • Partially submerged car at North Pine Dam

    There is currently a car partially submerged in the water at North Pine Dam. The Police have been notified and inspected the scene. Police and Seqwater teams will work together to remove the car tomorrow morning (Thursday 13/3). 

    In the interest of safety, please keep away from the car and do not investigate or attempt to move it.
