    Seqwater will be conducting a planned burn to the south-west of Hinze Dam on Thursday 29 May 2014.

    Recreation areas are not expected to be affected, however you may see smoke in the surrounding area.

    Please follow any signage and directions of Seqwater staff.

    Brisbane City Council will be conducting a planned burn at Kholo, adjacent to Seqwater land, on Wednesday 28 May 2014.

    Suburbs that may be affected by smoke include Kholo and Mt Crosby. Smoke will be visible from Lake Manchester Road, Ben Varden Avenue and Dandys Court.

  • QPWS planned burns in D'Aguilar National Park (near Lake Manchester)

    Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting planned burns on the national park land neighbouring Lake Manchester on Thursday 22 May 2014.

    As a result, some of the trails on Seqwater land may need to be closed to recreation users. QPWS staff will place signage on affected trails.

  • Moogerah Dam's lower recreation area and track over dam wall re-opens

    The lower recreation area and dam wall walking track at Moogerah Dam is re-open for public access, ahead of schedule, with the Stage 1a upgrade works at Moogerah Dam almost complete.

    The upgrade works are part of our ongoing dam improvement program that commenced in June 2014. The project is currently scheduled to finish by late November 2014. It is anticipated that a temporary access closure will be required for one week in late November to complete final works.

  • Lake Manchester - trails re-opened

    The fire trails at Lake Manchester have been re-opened to public access following the prescribed burn last week.

    Trail users and visitors should be aware that there is potentially still some active fire burning within containment lines and should exercise caution while visiting this section of the trail.

    Please continue to check the recreation and safety notices before heading out to Lake Manchester, and follow instructions provided by signage or by Seqwater staff.

  • Spillway Lookout at Wivenhoe Dam closed Sunday 18 May

    The Spillway Lookout at Lake Wivenhoe will be closed to the public on Sunday 18 May 2014 to accommodate a private event. Other recreation areas at Lake Wivenhoe will not be affected by the closure.

    Picnic facilities are available at Cormorant Bay, Lake Wivenhoe Information Centre, Logan Inlet, Hamon Cove, O’Shea’s Crossing and Branch Creek recreation areas.

    Canoes and kayaks can be launched onto the lake at Logan Inlet and O’Shea’s Crossing recreation areas, or onto the Brisbane River at other entry points further downstream from Wivenhoe Dam.

  • Temporary closure of Hinze Dam Spillway Lookout and walking track

    The Spillway Lookout, and the walking track from the Spillway Lookout to the Visitor Centre at Hinze Dam, will be temporarily closed on Wednesday 14 May and Thursday 15 May 2014.

    The closure is necessary to accommodate maintenance works at the site and ensure public safety. The lookout and walking track will be re-opened once works are completed.

    The nearby picnic areas will remain open, as they are not expected to be affected by the proposed works.
