A new water pumping station is being constructed on Woonara Drive, Petrie, as part of a joint project between Seqwater and Unitywater.

Work is scheduled to start early-January 2017 and will take about six months to complete, subject to weather and other unexpected delays.

A new water pumping station will be built near the existing Petrie Water Treatment Plant and underground water infrastructure will be reconfigured on Leis Street East and in a section of Carruthers Park, Kallangur.

Work hours are between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

About the Petrie Water Supply Upgrade

The Petrie Water Supply Upgrade involves four construction projects during 2017-18 including a new 2.4 kilometre pipeline and decommissioning an old water treatment plant in Petrie. About 100,000 more residents in the Moreton Bay region will be connected to the SEQ Water Grid for the first time once the upgrade is complete.
